Another of our goals for the year is for Steve and I to each spend more one-on-one time with Reagan and Cole. We are together a lot of the time, but we haven't really taken the opportunity to have each of us be with each of the kids one-on-one on a regular basis. Obviously, Cole and I have the most one-on-one time when Steve is at work and Reagan is at school, but that isn't really a "system". So, we told the kids about our new goal (at that FHE that I spoke about a few posts ago). Reagan and Cole were SO excited!

Show and Tell
Each week, Reagan and Cole have "Show and Tell" at school. In preschool, Cole just has to bring something, anything, and show it and talk about it. In Kindergarten, Reagan has to bring an item that corresponds with what they are studying that week.

It is Such an Honor
Our first Family Home Evening of 2012 came on January 2nd. We talked about different areas of our life, goals for each area, trying to be our best, etc. As a family, we set a couple of goals for each of 6 areas of our life.

Happy New Year!!!
We decided not to go anywhere this New Year's Eve. For some reason, we just didn't want to go somewhere, try to keep the kids up until after midnight, drive home and put them to bed and then drag ourselves to bed sometime past 1 or 2. I guess we're boring, but we had a great night anyway. We watched a movie and had popcorn, we went through boxes of those pop snap things that you throw on the ground. Reagan and Cole love those.
Then, we popped open a bottle of Martinelli's and showed Reagan and Cole how to "toast" the New Year. I think when we said "Cheers" and "To our family having a great 2012", they thought it was a wish thing, something akin to throwing a coin in a fountain. They wanted to touch glasses again and again and wish for something different each time. I had to laugh. (In fact, I'm delayed in my writing, so, we are days after New Year's and each night for about a week or so, Reagan and Cole wanted to have a family toast. We went through half a dozen bottles of Martinelli's before we told them it was really just for special occasions.)
